Evanescence is Back
EVANESCENCE IS BACK

Evanescence is back. Amy Lee recently revealed she had been working on new music with the group, and the band decided to get their live skills back in order by playing a "secret show" Wednesday at New York's Grand Ballroom. The singer was flanked by guitarist Terry Balsamo, bassist Tim McCord, and drummer Will Hunt, all holdovers from their last album tour cycle. Finger Eleven's James Black handled guitar duties during the set, taking over for Troy McLawhorn who is now the guitarist for Seether. The 17-song set relied heavily on the band's past material, with "Going Under" leading off the show, "Call Me When You're Sober" and "Bring Me To Life" keeping things lively, and "My Immortal" and "Your Star" serving as the encore. A new album, the band's first since 2006's "The Open Door," is expected in 2010.
